How To Make the Most Out Of Your Day

Ever feel like you haven't been utilizing your time efficiently? Make good use of your day by taking care of yourself along the way. Here’s some tips and tricks on how to keep you on track with your day-to-day habits. Each and every day we have on this Earth is a gift. And as Eleanor Roosevelt said, that’s why we call it the present!

Go To Bed Early And Get Up Early

Make an effort to get out of bed bright and early after giving yourself the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep. Set the tone of a natural wake-up with the help of a Wake Up Light Alarm Clock that gradually glows up your room as it simulates the sun rising. After you peacefully awaken from your slumber, rev up your morning by drinking a glass of warm water (to flush out toxins) while reflecting on your day. Try to spend this time in the morning as a form of self-care; look out the window and appreciate the sky and your surroundings. Think of something you’re grateful for and count your blessings.

Make A To-Do List

Make a list of goals you want to accomplish for the rest of the week, then choose certain days you’ll accomplish each goal. Imagine what you need to do for each day. If this is overwhelming, focus on your day as it comes. Using apps like Google Keep, keep a list of things that need to be done for the day like meetings, errands, or emails. Add time slots to your schedule so you can better gauge how much you can get done for the day. At the end, it will be oh so satisfying to check off or cross out your accomplished tasks.

Get moving

Your mind and body will feel a lot more energized if you’re active, so make sure you get your body moving, at least for a little bit of the day. This can be accomplished through minor changes such as getting off the bus a stop or two further than your usual destination, using the stairs instead of the elevator, or taking walks after your meals. If you’re at your desk all day, download Awareness on your laptop, which gently reminds you to take breaks from time to time. Use this opportunity to get up and stretch your legs or walk a lap around the office.

Find Inspiration Everyday

There’s also space to write down your main goal for the day, and you’ll always see it because it's right in the middle of the page. Because the photograph and quote changes everyday, it is refreshing to start off each day with motivation and a sense of purpose to attain your daily goal.

Do At Least One Thing You Find Enjoyable

Find time to do something you love or enjoy. It can be playing an instrument, spending time with your family/friends/pet, reading a book, making art, knitting, or even watching your favorite Netflix show. It's important to take care of yourself and to be in a healthy state of mind. When things get hectic, take a break to gather yourself together and enjoy the simple things in life.
